Choosing & Customizing

Choosing a Format and Customizing It

Formats, sizes, materials, closures and finishes.

How do I choose the right packaging format for my product?
Start with your product (powder, granules, liquid, solid pieces), fill weight, filling method and how it will be displayed. As a rule of thumb: stand-up pouches for retail shelves; flat bottom bags for a premium box-like look; side gusset bags for coffee and bulk dry goods; 3 side seal bags or rollstock film for single servings and sachets; spout pouches for liquids and purées; vacuum or retort bags for meat, cheese and ready meals; shaped pouches for a distinctive silhouette; gift boxes for premium gifting. Compare all nine formats on our Products page.
What is the difference between a stand-up pouch, a flat bottom bag and a side gusset bag?
A stand-up pouch stands on an expandable bottom gusset and has two main printable panels. A flat bottom bag (box pouch) combines a flat rectangular base with side gussets, giving a box-like shape and five printable panels; it usually costs more but looks more premium. A side gusset bag expands at the sides for larger fills, such as coffee beans, and is often closed with a tin tie.
How do I find the right pouch size?
Tell us the product, the net weight or volume per pack and your filling method. Products of the same weight can need very different sizes, so we recommend a reference size from the product page and can arrange samples for test filling, so you can check capacity, seal allowance and standing performance before confirming the production size.
Which materials do you use?
Mostly printed plastic and aluminium-foil laminates (glossy, matte white, metallic silver or matte black looks), with kraft paper laminates on request. The structure is selected for your product's moisture, oxygen and light barrier needs. Gift boxes use paper-wrapped greyboard, white cardboard, kraft paper or micro-flute corrugated board.
Which closures and accessories can be added?
Regular, easy-tear (pull-tab) and child-resistant zippers, tear notches, round or euro hang holes, rounded corners, clear windows, one-way degassing valves, tin ties, and spouts with caps. Not every accessory suits every pouch type or position; we confirm the configuration against the material structure and production process. See the accessories guide.
Which surface finishes are available?
Glossy, matte, spot gloss/matte, hot stamping (gold or silver) and holographic laser film. Effects and costs depend on the material, design area and quantity. Details are in the surface finishes guide.
Do you provide a free design template?
Yes. Tell us the pouch type, size, quantity per design and number of designs, and we will send a free dieline template that marks the bleed, safe area and seal positions, together with a recommended printing method.

MOQ, Lead Time & Samples

MOQ, Lead Time and Samples

Order quantities, production time and sampling.

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
For pouches and bags: 1,000 pcs per design with digital printing and 10,000 pcs per design with gravure printing. Rollstock film starts from 100 kg of printed film. Gift boxes start from 1,000 pcs (this may vary slightly with box style, size, material and printing process).
Does the MOQ apply per design or per order?
Per design. Each artwork version needs to reach the MOQ. If you have several SKUs in smaller quantities, digital printing is usually the better fit because it needs no printing cylinders.
How long does production take?
Digital printing: 10–12 working days. Gravure printing: 15–18 working days. Gift boxes: sampling 5–7 days and standard production 20–25 days. Larger orders may need more time; the schedule confirmed with your order applies.
Can I get samples? Are they free?
Yes. Samples from our existing range are free of charge. Custom samples printed with your own artwork are charged, and the cost depends on the complexity of the design; we confirm it with you before sampling.
Can I test my product in the pouches before placing an order?
Yes. We can arrange samples for test filling so you can check the actual capacity, seal allowance and standing performance before you confirm the production size.
Can you handle both small trial orders and large-volume production?
Yes. Our digital printing line suits trial launches, seasonal designs and multiple SKUs from 1,000 pcs per design; our gravure lines handle large repeat orders at a lower unit cost. You can start digital and move to gravure as volumes grow without changing supplier.
What information do you need for a quotation?
Your product, fill weight or volume, target market, quantity per design, number of designs and preferred dimensions. Add any shelf-life, colour or accessory requirements so we can recommend the right material structure. We reply with a recommendation and quotation within 24 hours.

Artwork & Printing

Artwork and Printing

Printing methods, file preparation and colour.

Should I choose digital or gravure printing?
Choose gravure if your design is final and each design runs in large quantities: it needs printing cylinders but gives the lowest unit cost at scale. Choose digital for trial launches, frequent artwork changes or many designs: no cylinders and a 1,000 pcs per design MOQ. Digital printing does not automatically mean lower print quality; for strict brand colours we agree colour standards and proofs first. See the full digital vs. gravure comparison.
Which artwork file formats do you accept?
AI or print-ready PDF files are preferred; PSD is accepted with editable layers. Logos, text and lines should be vector artwork, raster images at least 300 ppi at actual print size, and text converted to outlines. Keep die lines, white ink, spot gloss/matte and hot stamping on separate, labelled layers.
How much bleed and safe area do I need?
Bleed is usually 3 mm beyond the trim line. Keep logos, product information and barcodes inside the safe area, away from seals, folds and accessory areas. Our free template for your pouch type and size marks all of these positions.
Do you print CMYK and Pantone colours?
Yes. Use CMYK for images and four-colour content (not RGB). Brand colours and large solid areas can be printed as spot colours; please give the Pantone Formula Guide number with its version or suffix.
How do you keep colours consistent between batches?
We agree a colour standard (Pantone numbers or a physical sample), measure with an X-Rite spectrophotometer, monitor colour and registration in-line on the press, and re-check samples manually during production. See colour management.
Can I approve a proof before production?
Yes. Pre-press proofing is available so you can check the design and colour direction. The proofing method, cost and timing are confirmed per project.

Quality, Payment & Shipping

Quality, Compliance, Payment and Shipping

Testing, documentation, payment, trade terms and delivery.

How do you control quality?
Every order goes through raw material inspection, in-process control during printing, laminating, slitting and bag making, final product testing and third-party verification. Our in-house laboratory tests lamination and heat-seal performance, barrier and sealing performance, food packaging safety and printing quality; finished-pack tests can include leak, tensile, drop, heat-seal strength and zipper tests.
Is your packaging food-safe? Do you have FDA certification?
We use food-grade materials that comply with FDA food-contact requirements, and SGS third-party test reports are available on request. Food-contact suitability and documentation are confirmed for the selected materials and your destination market, and the review may cover requirements such as EU PPWR, PFAS restrictions and TPCH limits.
Can you provide FSC, FDA or PPWR documents for gift boxes?
Documentation is provided according to your target market and purchasing requirements. If you need FSC-certified materials, FSC labelling or food-contact compliance documents, tell us before quotation so we can verify them; not every gift box qualifies by default.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept T/T (bank transfer). The payment schedule is confirmed in your quotation.
Which trade terms (Incoterms) do you offer?
FOB, CIF, DAP or DDP, or other terms on request according to your needs.
How do you ship orders?
By air, by sea or by multimodal transport. We help you choose based on order size, delivery deadline and destination.
